Cat Forest

One design family: the forest, the cats asleep at its roots, and the seigaiha wave that runs the length of the sleeve.

Matcha-green trees at staggered depth, leaves drifting through the gaps, and mist made of the paper left bare between the layers — which is how a watercolor does fog. The front carries the scene small; the back is given room to be a scene. The sleeve is texture rather than a second illustration, because two drawings competing on one body is noise and a drawing beside a texture is a composition.

The family runs across weights and cuts, so the same forest reads on a heavyweight fleece and on an all-over print without either one repeating the other.
